How to submit images for competitions

Prints:

Prints may be any size up to 16 x 20 inches and not smaller than 5 x 7 inches. They must be mounted on conventional matte board not larger than 16 x 20 inches or smaller than 8 x 10 inches. Prints may not be framed and should not have the photographer’s name visible.

On the back, place your name, the level you are competing in, and the title of the image. Be sure to list your image on the sign in sheet when you place it on the table.

Digital Projected Images:

The name of the image file should be the title of your image. For instance, if you want to enter an image of a Snowy Egret Standing on a Rock, you should change the name of the image file from img_3719.jpg to Snowy Egret Standing on a Rock.jpg or whatever other title you would like to use. Image files should be less than 8MB in size and should be sized at 1920 (W) x 1200 (H) pixels for best projection.

The preferred way to submit your images is through the online digital upload process. Late in the week before the competition, there will be an email on Syrcam with a link to the upload web page, which will provide instructions on how to submit your image(s). The link will be live until midnight on the Friday evening before the Wednesday competition.

If you are unable to upload your images you may bring them on a USB thumb drive on the evening of the competition. If you do this, be sure to have only your submission images on the drive, or in a folder of the drive, so that the digital team does not take up time looking for your images.

Images should be in the jpgs format and in the sRGB color space. For color accuracy, you should calibrate your monitor. The club owns a calibration program that you can borrow.
